Billy was born in East St. Louis Illinois into a musical family.His mother played organ and piano, and his father sang in the choir for the Dupo 1st Baptist Church. He started playing guitar at the age of 9, and also played trumpet in grade and high school. After seeing Andreas Segovia and Joe Pass in his senior year, Billy studied jazz and classical guitar at SIU Edwardsville Ill. Following college, he joined Street Corner Symphony, a touring band from the midwest. 12 years later, he started his own band. Billy has opened up for or shared the stage with many artists ranging from Roy Orbison, Junior Wells, the John Scofield band, R.L.Burnside, Victor Wooten, Yngwie Malmsteen, Billy Corigan, The Rippingtons, Chuck Berry, Jonnie Johnson, Robert Randolph, Eric Gales, and Jumping Johnny Sansone. Billy also plays in various bands in St. Louis. He is working on his 6th independent C.D. Now that you know all that, don't forget he's our guitar teacher and spills something everyday on something important. Billy's also one of our crack retail staff.
